Port Orchard Community Events Center
In January of 2019, the Kitsap Public Facilities District (KPFD) put forth a request for proposals, in search of a new project to fund. The goal was to encourage projects that would increase and promote tourism within Kitsap County.
Creating Lasting Changes in our Communities
The KPFD recognized the need for a central gathering space in Port Orchard and selected the Port Orchard Community Events Center (POCEC) as the #1 project in August 2019. After a period of accepting bids and interviewing applicants, The City of Port Orchard has contracted Rice Fergus Miller, a Kitsap-based architectural firm, to design and build the POCEC.
POCEC will provide a central gathering place and multi-purpose facility in downtown Port Orchard that will support a multitude of functions for local and regional use. The facility will house the City’s Regional Library branch and support the community through public use of event and meeting space both large and small.
