House Bill 1109 Signed Into Law

On May 17, 2025, WA State Governor Ferguson signed into law House Bill 1109, extending public facilities districts collection of county sales tax thru 2056. Previously, sales tax collection was set to expire in 2041. The tax imposed expires when bonds issued to finance or refinance the construction, improvement, rehabilitation, or expansion of a regional center and related parking facilities are retired, but not more than 55 years after the tax is first collected.
