The North Kitsap Regional Event Center is a proposed multi-use regional recreation and cultural center with ball fields, expanded swimming pool and community performance center. The Center, located near the NK High School complex,
will include improvements and renovation of existing facilities and fields.
The Phase I
project is replacing the grass
fields at the NK Stadium and one
of the soccer fields at
Strawberry Field with
artificial turf, and also
install lights at Strawberry
Field. This project began on the
2nd of June and will continue
through the summer, completing
by Sept 6th at the Stadium (although with completion of the track resurfacing, it will not be fully open until Sept 23rd) and
by approximately October 15th at Strawberry Field.
Some pictures of the progress to
date are below.
Special Note: There will
be a "Grand Re-Opening" Ceremony
of the North Kitsap Stadium
field on October 17th at
approximately 6:30 pm, before
the Vikings Homecoming game
against Bremerton HS. The four
partners who cooperated in the
$2.2 million project to provide
artificial turf and resurfaced
track for the Stadium, will be
recognized for the completion of
the Stadium part of the Phase I
project.
The PFD contributed
$1.45 million dollars of the
total $2.2 million required to
complete Phase I.
Following are photos of the
work being done on the NKREC
Phase I project.

And now, as
Field #8 is completed -
with lines for both soccer &
lacrosse
and the special hooded lights
have been installed!

And now the community can resume
play on an all-weather, lighted

the heavy use that current
demand requires.
