The facilities that received funding from the Kitsap Public Facilities District continue to produce excellent economic results and quality of life benefits to Kitsap County communities.

Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside

In 2008, the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside again exceeded all expectations with regard to economic impact, job creation, and guests served.

Today, it is a profitable and popular regional venue for business and community events. The Ground-breaking for this beautiful waterfront facility took place on October 14, 2002. It opened on-time and within budget in August 2004 and is still leading the way for Bremerton's massive $500 million redevelopment.

Kitsap Sun Pavilion & Fairgrounds Event Center
• Gordon Field use up 35%.
• Baseball and softball field usage increased 33%.
• 1,000-plus youths participated in multi-day camps and clinics.
• Kitsap Sun Pavilion tournaments up 50%.

North Kitsap Regional Event Center
2006 NKREC Master Plan provides a long term vision for a fully-accessible, community focal point for socializing, cultural and recreational activities. It also will accommodate regional sports tournaments.

• 35,000 sq. ft. Special Events Center

In early 2008, construction began on "Phase I" of the Master Plan, converting the NK Stadium field and one of the soccer fields at Strawberry Field to world class Mondo artificial turf. In addition, lights were added to the Strawberry Field.

The partnership of the PFD, NK School District, County and the city of Poulsbo combined to finance the $2.2 million project, which was completed in November 2008. These new "tournament quality" facilities in the North end of the County are now available for Football, Soccer and Lacrosse to the NKSchool District and residents of the County as well as organizations that wish to host or sponsor major tournaments or events there.
 
About the Kitsap Public Facilities District

The Kitsap Public Facilities District (KPFD) is an independent municipal corporation managing Washington state sales tax rebate funds allocated to Kitsap County. The seven member Board of Directors are appointed by the Kitsap County Commissioners.

The KPFD acts as a catalyst for creating livable and active communities in Kitsap County and uses the following guiding principles: 1) economic development, 2) efficient use of public and private monies, 3) innovation and 4) multiple use.
