Babe Ruth Baseball Awards 2012 World Series to Kitsap County!

On May 18th, the contract was signed between the North Kitsap Babe Ruth organization and the Babe Ruth League, Inc. for the 2012 13-year old World Series to be held here in Kitsap County. The week-long World Series will be played at the Loeb Field complex at the Kitsap Fairgrounds and Event Center, ball fields improved over the years to tournament level quality facilities with both PFD and County funds.

This is the kind of event and its corresponding economic impact, estimated to be perhaps as much as $1 million, that the use of public funding for building or improving recreation and sports facilities was supposed to achieve.

We are proud of the Kitsap County Parks Dept for keeping Field 1 in great tournament quality shape and are proud of the North Kitsap Babe Ruth for following through with their application and winning the 2012 World Series for Kitsap. More info here.

The World Series will be played in August of 2012, in the week prior to the County Fair, finishing with the Championship game on the evening of the first Fair day, August 22nd. This will be a nationally televised event, so we hope that Kitsap County will come out and support this great event. Look for lots of other activities leading up to this momentous occasion.
